HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After CSUSM was whistled for a foul in the box in the 42nd minute, CPP's Ramirez was awarded a penalty kick. As the Cougar keeper dove to the right side of the goal, Ramirez's shot went into the left corner of the nylon to give the Broncos a 1-0 lead.
  • With possession down the right side, CPP's Laguna put a cross into the center of the box. After one bounce, Rieg's shot from six yards out found the back left corner of the net and gave the Broncos a 2-0 lead in the 44th minute.
  • With Faria taking a corner kick from the far-left side in the 75th minute, his kick found the head of Faria just left of the goal, who put the ball into the center of the frame for the Broncos' third goal of the game.
  • In the 80th minute, Ajeakwa booted a ball from just behind the midfield line that landed just in front of the box. After a failed attempt by the CSUSM keeper to grab the ball, Ramirez blew past and took a shot from the center of the box into the empty net to give CPP a 4-0 lead.
