Cougars Improve to 2-0 in CCAA with Shutout Against CSUMB

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team collected its second California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) shutout of the weekend with a 1-0 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay at The Cage on Sunday.

CSUSM – 22' Amy Wilson (Assist by Lauren Perry and Madyson Brown)
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • On a Brown corner kick, Perry headed it from the far post to Wilson who sent it to the corner with her own header.
 
QUICK KICKS
  • The Cougars (3-2-1, 2-0) join Sonoma State as the only two teams in the conference to collect six points in the opening weekend of CCAA action.
  • In only her second start in goal, Yesenia Betancourt notched another clean sheet with one save.
  • CSUSM tallied seven shots to the Otters' four.
 
UP NEXT
