SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's golf team will participate in the inaugural California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Golf Championships early this week in Sonoma. CSUSM softball squad plays a nonconference doubleheader against Concordia-Irvine on Wednesday at home while the Cougar baseball team playing a split-venue series against Cal State L.A. this weekend. The CSUSM track & field teams compete in Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday and Friday.

- CSUSM is 4-8 all-time against the Eagles.
- The Cougars dropped both games of their doubleheader last season at CUI by scores of 7-3 and 3-0.
- The Eagles swept Cal State East Bay on Sunday, 4-1 and 6-3.
- CUI is currently third in the PacWest Conference standings.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN
- The Cougars earned their first CCAA series victory, taking the first three games over visiting Cal State East Bay; 4-0, 4-2 and 7-2 before their late rally fell short at 5-4 in the series finale.
- Sophomore Karen Roman hit .600 (6-for-10) with a double while junior Rae Camez matched her in hits which included a double and her first home run of the season.
- In the 2018 CCAA softball preseason poll, the Cougars were picked to finish 10th.

MOVING ON UP, IN THE CSUSM RECORD BOOKS
- Lauren Wyckoff – Moved into sole possession of No. 3 in the 100 meters after recording a time of 12.33
- Kamarria Rehn – Remained at No. 5 in the 100 meters but improved on her time by four hundredths of a second
- Jolene Widmer – Broke into the top 10 at No. 9 in the 100 meters with a time of 12.65

- The Cougars won one of their four games to Chico State last weekend. CSUSM came out strong in game one, recording 16 hits in the 8-6 victory over the Wildcats on Friday. The Cougars dropped the final three games by scores of 11-7, 10-4 and 7-2.
- Junior Austin Ott went 8-for-16 with two home runs and five RBIs while classmate Cabot Van Til batted .474 (9-for-19) with two doubles, a triple and a home run on the weekend.
