SAN MARCOS, Calif. – It's Senior Weekend for the Cal State San Marcos softball team with a short presentation slated prior to Saturday's first pitch against Cal State East Bay. The CSUSM baseball team hosts Chico State this weekend. The men's and women's track & field teams compete at the Triton Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

CAL STATE EAST BAY
- CSUSM is 4-2 all-time against the Pioneers.
- The Cougars collected a series win last season, defeating CSUEB in the final three games by scores of 4-1, 8-7 and 7-2 after dropping game one 3-2.
- The Pioneers dropped 3-of-4 last week to San Francisco State.
- CSUDH was selected to finish seventh in the 2018 CCAA softball preseason coaches' poll.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN
- CSUSM will honor its three seniors, Karla Bernal, Lindsay Cerulle and Sara Langdon before Saturday's doubleheader.
- The Cougars split their four-game series with Cal State Dominguez Hills last week, winning the series opener (2-1) and finale (9-1) while dropping the middle two games 7-1 and 3-2.
- Cerulle went 7-for-12 with a double and a run in the series. Sophomore Melody Forstie hit her first collegiate home run, going 4-for-7 with five RBIs and three runs on the weekend.
- In the 2018 CCAA softball preseason poll, the Cougars were picked to finish 10th.

CHICO STATE
- CSUSM is 1-5 all-time against the Wildcats.
- Last season, the Cougars dropped all three games at Chico State by scores of 10-3, 18-4 and 9-0.
- R.J. Hassey leads the CCAA in hit by pitches, accumulating 15 in 31 games.
- As a team, the Wildcats rank second in the CCAA in pitching (3.55 ERA) and third in hitting (.293 avg.).
CSUSM BREAKDOWN
- The Cougars split their series at Stanislaus State last weekend, recording two come-from-behind victories in games two and four of the series.
- Senior Aidan Stinnett went 9-for-18 with two doubles and a home run in the series. He also tallied five RBIs and scored four times.
- As a team, CSUSM ranks sixth in batting (.282) and tenth in pitching (6.18ERA) in the CCAA.
