SAN FRANCISCO – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team took a 1-0 loss at San Francisco State in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action at Cox Stadium on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• SFSU's Kwong broke away down the right side in the seventh minute to put the Gators up 1-0.
• The Gators' Nicki Rucki recorded the shutout after making six saves on 11 shots faced.

 
QUICK KICKS

• After getting outshot 7-3 in the first half, the Cougars turned up the pressure in the second half by taking eight shots and holding the Gators to one.
• CSUSM led the game in shots (11-8), shots on goal (6-5) and corner kicks (8-2).
• The Cougars have allowed no more than one goal in their last four contests.
• CSUSM drops to 5-5-1 (4-2 CCAA) on the season while SFSU improves to 6-4-1 (4-2-1 CCAA).
• This was just the third game of season in which the Cougars posted a double-digit shot total (11).
• CSUSM has taken more corners than its opponents in four consecutive games and in eight of 11 matches this season.
