SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Two early goals lifted the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday afternoon at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- On a header pass by Salazar in the box, Mendez finished it with a header of his own into the top right corner in the fourth minute to put CSUSM up 1-0.
- Less than 10 minutes later, a long pass from Morrison to Martin went off a CSUDH defender's head and into their own goal to give the Cougars a two-goal cushion.
- CSUDH scored its lone goal on a penalty kick by Alewine.
QUICK KICKS
- CSUSM improves to 6-5-2 (2-4-2 CCAA) while the Toros drop to 4-9-1 (4-4 CCAA).
- With the win, CSUSM collects three points to raise its total to 11 points in the CCAA standings.
- Mendez raised his goal total for the season to four.
- The Cougars finished with a 11-8 shot advantage but the Toros ended the contest with a 5-3 edge in corners.
