SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball squad hosts three home matches this week in The Sports Center. The CSUSM men's golf competes in Chico State's Interwest Wildcat Classic while the men's and women's soccer teams travel to Sonoma State and Humboldt State this weekend.

- The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series at 4-1 over the Cougars.
- After going four-sets at home last season, the Cougars fell just short in a their comeback in L.A. with a five-set heartbreaker.
- CSULA is in the midst of a three-match losing streak, suffering sweeps to UC San Diego and Cal State San Bernardino while dropping a five-set match to Cal Poly Pomona.
CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO
- The Cougars are searching for their first win against CSUSB as the Coyotes lead the all-time series 4-0.
- After suffering their second CCAA loss of the season at the hands of Cal Poly Pomona, the Coyotes bounced back with wins at Cal State Dominguez Hills (3-2) and Cal State L.A. (3-0).
- Senior outside hitter Lauren Nicholson is the CCAA kills leader with 254 in 67 sets.
CAL POLY POMONA
- CSUSM has won the last three meeting against the Broncos including a five-set thriller on Sept. 29 in Pomona.
- Pomona pulled off a huge upset against then-No. 23 ranked Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 4, taking down the Coyotes in four sets.
- Senior Alina Smith leads the CCAA in aces with a 0.41 average per set.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN
- CSUSM registered back-to-back CCAA sweeps last week. The Cougars took down Cal State Dominguez Hills in The Sports Center before traveling north to Arcata to collecte a three-set victory over Humboldt State.
- The Cougars continue to be ranked No. 2 in the CCAA statistics behind UC San Diego in digs (17.46 per set) thanks in large part to freshman libero Grecia Cordero-Barr, the conference digs leader with a 4.98 per set average.
- Junior Faith Fortuné is No. 18 in blocking in the NCAA Division II statistics this week, averaging 1.25 blocks per set.

- The Cougars are 0-2 all-time against the Seawolves. In the last meeting, then No. 19 Sonoma State took down CSUSM 1-0 at The Cage on Oct. 2, 2016.
- SSU had won six consecutive matches before dropping their latest match to No. 25 Cal Poly Pomona 1-0 in double-overtime on Sunday, Oct. 8 in Pomona.
- The Seawolves are a perfect 6-0 at home this season. Alexis Espitia leads the team with six goals while goalkeeper Kristen Spear has recorded seven shutouts this season.
HUMBOLDT STATE
- CSUSM and Humboldt hold a 0-0-2 all-time record against one another.
- These two teams last played on September 30, 2016 at The Cage. CSUSM's Meghan Randig put the Cougars ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 24th minute but the equalizer for HSU came with just 36 seconds left in the match.
- Alex Jenkins leads the team with six goals and 13 points this season.
CSUSM Breakdown
- The Cougars went 0-2 last week after falling to No. 7 UC San Diego (1-0) on the road and San Francisco State (1-0) at home.
- After winning three of four matches from Sept. 15-25, CSUSM has dropped three consecutive contests and have been outscored 4-1 during that span.
- CSUSM ranks fourth in the CCAA in fewest goals allowed with nine in 12 matches.

SONOMA STATE
- CSUSM is 0-2 all-time against Sonoma State.
- In the last meeting, SSU won 2-1 on Oct. 2, 2016 at The Cage. CSUSM jumped on the board first with a Bryan Morrison goal in the 18th minute but SSU goals in the 47th and 54th minutes proved to be the difference.
- The Seawolves are coming off back-to-back losses to Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona. SSU has gone 2-2-2 at home this season.
HUMBOLDT STATE
- CSUSM is 2-0 all-time against the Lumberjacks. The Cougars have outscored HSU 8-2 in two meetings.
- The Cougars were all over HSU in the last meeting. CSUSM took down the Lumberjacks 5-0 on Sept. 30 at The Cage. Bryan Morrison, Parker Hodges, Diego Perez, Kristian Finsen and Callan Little all scored for CSUSM.
