SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team competes in the first round of the CCAA tournament on Tuesday while the CSUSM cross country teams head to Oregon for the NCAA West Regionals. The women's golf team hosts the CSUSM Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday. The Cougar volleyball squad closes the week out with its final home game of 2017, hosting crosstown rival UC San Diego on Saturday.

- CSUSM is 2-1 all-time over the Wildcats.
- In the last meeting, the Cougars took down Chico St. 2-1 at home on Sept. 17, 2017. Seniors Meghan Randig and Kayla Anderson both scored in the match.
- The Wildcats have won six of their last seven matches. Most recently coming off a 1-0 win at CSULA on Oct. 28.
- Erin Woods leads the team in goals (7) assists (5) and points (19). The wildcats have scored 30 total goals this season.
- Claire Abele has played and started in all 17 matches in net for Chico, has made 45 saves on 144 shots faced including five shutouts and 16 goals against.
CSUSM BREAKDOWN
- The Cougars clinched a CCAA tournament bid with a 3-2 double overtime win over CSUEB on Oct. 28.
- Senior Morgan Simmons, junior Jessica Moreno and sophomore Lauren Perry all scored goals last week for CSUSM. Perry had the game winner in the 106th minute to propel the Cougars over East Bay.
- Anderson and Randig lead the team with three goals each. Anderson also leads the team in points (10) and assists (4).

THIS WEEK
- The CSUSM cross country teams will be the first programs to officially compete and place in a NCAA West Regional event in school history.
- Teams and individuals qualify for the national championships based on their performances throughout the season as well as automatic bids in the regional meets. A total of 32 teams and 24 individuals will be selected. The process for allocating the berths can be found at the West Regional Championship website here.
LAST OUTING
- The women's team took second at the CCAA Championships with senior Natalie Rodriguez and junior Lisa Flora each earning All-CCAA honors after placing second and fifth, respectively.
- The men's team finished third at the CCAA Championships, also notching two Cougars on the All-CCAA team. Sophomore Joshua Litwiller took eighth while freshman Shea Vavra narrowly made the cut with a 14th place finish.
USTFCCAA RANKINGS
- The women's team remains at No. 12 in the latest USTFCCCA Top-25 national rankings.
- The Cougars made their national ranking debut in the preseason poll at No. 22 and were No. 9 for two consecutive weeks.

- The Cougars are searching for their first win over the regional powerhouse Tritons, falling in their last four meetings.
- With their five-set loss to Cal State East Bay on Saturday, the Tritons are now tied with CSUSM for second in the CCAA South Division standings.
- UCSD leads the CCAA with a 17.91 digs per set average while the Cougars rank second at 17.19 per set.
- Junior middle blocker Micah Hammond ranks third in the conference with a .352 attack percentage.

- CSUSM recorded a weekend sweep with wins over Cal State East Bay (3-1) and Cal State Monterey Bay (3-0).
- The Cougars continue to lead the CCAA with a 2.36 block per set average while holding their opponents to a 1.60 average, second in the conference. Junior middle blocker Faith Fortuné is CCAA's block leader with a 1.27 block per set average.
- Freshman libero Grecia Cordero-Barr continues to lead the CCAA in digs, averaging 4.79 per set.
