Cougars Travel North to Clash with Otters, Gators

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team looks to bounce back following its first conference loss of the season as the Cougars head to Cal State Monterey Bay and San Francisco State this week in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play.

Cougar Notes
· CSUSM went 1-1 last week in its second weekend of CCAA action.
· The Cougars secured a 5-0 victory over Humboldt State, it's largest victory since Nov. 1, 2014.
· Parker Hodges, Diego Perez, Kristian Finsen and Callan Little each scored their first collegiate goals in the win over HSU.
· Bryan Morrison scored a goal in both games last week.
· The Cougars' seven points in CCAA action have them sitting in an eighth-place tie with UC San Diego.

The Otter Guys
· CSUSM is 2-0-0 all-time against the Otters.
· The Cougars scored two goals in the final two minutes of last year's meeting to top CSUMB, 3-2.
· CSUMB has dropped three in a row and are winless in its last six.
· The Otters have scored three goals in conference play, tied for the least in the CCAA.

Cougars vs. Gators
· CSUSM is 1-1-0 all-time vs. SFSU.
· The Cougars blanked the Gators, 3-0, in the last meeting between the teams on Oct. 9, 2015.
· Jacob Cintas scored his first collegiate goal and added an assist in last year's victory.
· The Gators snapped a three-match losing streak with a 1-0 road upset of then-No. 12 Cal State L.A. on Oct. 2.

The Pulvers File
Head coach Ron Pulvers enters his 11th season as head coach of the CSUSM men's soccer program and 21st overall as a collegiate head coach. He holds a 99-62-16 (.605) record in charge of the CSUSM men's program and a 225-133-30 (.619) career record. Between 2006-13, Pulvers was the head coach for both the men's and women's programs at CSUSM.
