OT Goal Sends Cougars Packing

LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team fell via golden goal, 1-0, in overtime to Biola on Saturday afternoon at Al Barbour Field.

The Cougars drop to 0-1-1 on the year, while NAIA-ranked No. 22 Biola improves its unbeaten record to 3-0-1.

After an hour and a half of scoreless play, Amanda Otto scored directly off a corner kick in the 99th minute to send the Eagles to victory. The ball snuck inside the back post, over the reach of CSUSM goalkeeper Allie Jara. Jara made a total of seven saves on the afternoon.

The Eagles outshot the Cougars 17-8 and had five shots in the overtime period.

Meghan Randig came off the bench to put two of her three attempts on-frame for CSUSM.

CSUSM is winless in its first two games for the first time since the inaugural 2006 season. Concordia (Calif.) comes to town on Wednesday, Sept. 9 for CSUSM's first home match as a NCAA Division II squad.
