KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Cal State San Marcos men's golf team moved up a spot to No. 7 in the first regular season edition of the 2014-15 NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll, it was announced Friday.
The Cougars, who started the year at No. 8, received 381 total points. They are the second-highest rated team in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference behind No. 3 British Columbia.
CSUSM holds the sixth-best adjusted scoring average (73.36) in the NAIA and is averaging 293.71 strokes per round.
The Cougars are coming off an 11th-place finish at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic. CSUSM has finished one stroke off of the team title in each of their previous two NAIA tournaments, the CSUSM Cougar Invite (Feb. 2-3) and the UHV Claude Jacobs Invite (Feb. 15-16).
CSUSM will take part in the Battle at Primm, Mar. 23-24, in Primm, Nev.
