BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Cal State San Marcos women's golf team took sixth place at the 12-team Western Washington Invite at Bellingham Golf and Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars finished the tournament 60-over par (324-320 – 644).
Northeastern State (304-296- 600, +16) took home the team title by 13 strokes over St. Martin's (309-304 – 613 +29).
Victoria Smith had the low round of the day for the Cougars with a 3-over 76 on the par-73 track. She went on to finish the tournament in a tie for 23
rd at 13-over 159.
Joan Park was the Cougars' top finisher for the second consecutive tournament. After starting the day in second place after a first-round 73 (E), she recorded an 80 and finished in a tie for seventh at 7-over 153.
Sarah Garcia also shot 80 on Tuesday and tied for 43
rd at 20-over 166 for the tournament.
Gabby Bautista rounded out the Cougar scoring with an 11-over 83. She tied for 45
th at 21-over 167.
Taylor Coover's 86 was tossed out of the team score. She tied for 51
st (+25).
CSUSM's final fall tournament is its own CSUSM Fall Classic on Oct. 26-27 at Twin Oaks Golf Course.
