On The Road AgainThe Cougars are in the midst of a four-game road trip, their first of two such ventures in the regular season. After a stop at West Coast Baptist on Oct. 4, CSUSM is finally back home to host Concordia (Oct. 7) and San Diego Christian (Oct. 14) with a trip to Hope International (Oct. 8) sandwiched in-between. The Cougars then once again hit the road with a three-match tournament hosted by The Master's College (Oct. 17-18) and wrapped up the road-trip at No. 6 Biola (Oct. 23).
Strong Presence In National Statistics The Cougars are ranked in seven categories at the national level including No. 4 in both total assists (857) and total kills (935). The other five rankings are: No. 14 in total service aces (123), No. 15 in total digs (1128), No. 25 in kills per game (12.810), No. 29 in assists per game (11.74) and No. 34 in hitting percentage (.216). Jordan Banich also appear in the rankings. Foster ranks No. 7 in total assists (673) and assists per game (9.9). Banich ranks No. 26 in kills per game (3.540) and No. 41 in total kills (191).

The Eagles are nearly perfect in 2014 at 16-1 with their lone loss a five-set thriller to then No. 17 Rocky Mountain College on Sept. 5 at the University of Great Falls Tournament in Helena, Mont. CU-Irvine squeaked out another five-set win at No. 6 Biola on Saturday, Sept. 20, winning the final set 15-13. As a team, the Eagles rank No. 1 in kills (14.880) and No. 3 in assists (13.470) per game. Senior middle blocker Reanna Schelhaas ranks No. 12 with a .360 attack percentage.
La Sierra RecapThe 23rd-ranked Cougars rallied back for a four-set victory at La Sierra last Saturday night. Senior outside hitter
Alyssa Hubbard turned up the heat, hitting .448 with 16 kills. Sophomore
Brooke Butler collected her first double-double of the season with 12 kills and 11 digs. Freshman middle hitter
Kristin Parker went 8-for-16 with no errors in addition to her three block assists.
