Biola PreviewAll-time record vs. BU: 2-1-3
Last meeting: T, 0-0 (2OT) (Sept. 17, 2013)
The Eagles and Cougars are relatively familiar with having faced each once in each of the last five seasons. A year ago, the Cougars went to La Mirada and forced a 0-0 tie against the then-No. 9 ranked Eagles. They've actually tied the last two times out; the Cougars have not beaten the Eagles since Oct. 2, 2009 (3-2). After a 3-0-1 start, the Eagles suffered their first loss of the year, 6-1, to Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) on Monday.
Rocky Mountain PreviewAll-time record vs. RMC: 1-1
Last meeting: L, 0-1 (Sept. 28, 2013)
The Cougars and Battlin' Bears will face off for the third time in two seasons on Sunday in San Marcos. CSUSM topped then-No. 22 Rocky Mountain 4-2 in the teams' first-ever meeting on Sept. 15, 2013, behind a pair of goals from
Alex Jaziri and scores from
Louie Farfan and
Evan Myers. The Bears got their revenge two weeks later, as RMC edged CSUSM 1-0 on Sept. 28, 2013 in the Westminster Invite. RMC recently snapped a six-match losing streak with a 2-1 victory over Carroll College on Sept. 13 in Montana.
Schedule OutlookCSUSM will host their final five games at home versus La Sierra (Oct. 9, 3 p.m.), Bethesda (Oct. 18, 3:30 p.m.), Johnson & Wales (Oct. 25, 2:30 p.m.), Antelope Valley (Nov. 1, 1 p.m.), and Point Loma (Nov. 4, 3:30 p.m.).
