Last time out: The Cougars defeated the Hawks 25-16, 25-20 and 25-15 on the first day of the UC Merced Invitational. The victory was CSUSM's fifth in what would be a 10-game win streak. Junior
Jordan Banich recorded her fifth double-double in nine games with 14 kills and 10 digs. As a team, the Cougars collected a season-best 10 team blocks with
Alyssa Hubbard leading the way with four block assists and a solo block.
La Sierra PreviewAll-time vs. La Sierra: 7-3
Last time out: The Cougars dropped a four-game decision to the Golden Eagles (23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-23) in their third meeting of 2013. CSUSM was victorious in the first two matches against La Sierra.
After starting the season with six losses, the Golden Eagles have captured two wins consisting of a four-set victory against visiting Pacific Union on Sept. 8 and a sweep at Hope International on Sept. 10. Senior outside hitter Lina Semaia is the Golden Eagles' go-to hitter with 109 kills and 3.89 kills per set.
Pacific Union RecapThe Cougars collected their ninth sweep of 2014 against Pacific Union on Wednesday, Sept. 10 with scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-14. CSUSM hit .375 as a team with Hubbard tallying a team-best 11 kills on 16 attempts and only one error.
