Preparing for Road Again…The Cougars sneak one more home game on Tuesday before hitting the road for a three-match tournament at The Master's College followed by a stop at No. 5 Biola on Oct. 21. CSUSM concludes their regular season hosting four of their final five matches before heading to the A.I.I. Conference Championships.
Strong Presence In National Statistics The Cougars are ranked in seven categories at the national level. The seven rankings are: No. 27 in hitting percentage (.217), No. 31 in assists per game (11.67), No. 33 in kills per game (12.69), No. 39 in aces (145), No. 42 in total assists (992), No. 46 in total kills (1079) and No. 48 in aces per game (1.71). Alyssa Foster also makes an appearance; ranking No. 25 assists per game (9.900) and No. 33 in total assists (792).

Last time out: The Cougars dropped a five-set heartbreaker (25-12, 23-25, 25-12, 19-25, 10-15) to the Hawks on Sept. 16 in Lakeside. Sophomore
Brooke Butler had a match-high 16 kills while hitting .324 for the night. Senior
Alyssa Foster collected her 10th double-double on the season with 29 assists and 16 digs.
SDCC Breakdown: Since collecting their program's first win over the Cougars, SDCC has put together a 4-6 record that included being swept by No. 3 Concordia, No. 18 Vanguard and Hope International. Senior outside hitter Lauren Phillips is leading the Hawks with 2.81 kills per set while accumulating 20 aces and 134 digs.
Embry Riddle (Fla.) PreviewAll-time vs. ERU: 0-0
ERU Breakdown: This will be the first meeting between the Cougars and Eagles from Florida. ERU has won six consecutive Sun Conference regular season championships behind the guidance of head coach Joslynn Gallop, a graduate of San Jose State. Leading the Eagles this season is senior outside hitter Jennifer Beatty, averaging 3.56 kills per set. Don't confuse these Eagles with the Embry Riddle Eagles out of Arizona that CSUSM has swept three times.
The Master's College PreviewAll-time vs. TMC: 2-4
Last time out: TMC ended the Cougars' 2013 in the first round of the NAIA National Championship in three sets (25-27, 26-28, 22-25).
TMC Breakdown: The Mustangs have faced three straight nationally-ranked teams in the last two weeks, recording a five-set win over No. 17 Vanguard. No. 5 Biola and No. 3 Concordia swept them before and after that win, respectively.
Vanguard PreviewAll-time vs. VU: 2-4
Last time out: The Cougars dropped a five-set heartbreaker (25-21, 27-25, 17-25, 18-25, 8-15) to the Lions in in their own tournament on Sept. 5 in Costa Mesa, Calif. Senior
