SAN MARCOS, Calif.—In the midst of a five game winning streak, the Cal State San Marcos volleyball team will look to add to its total Tuesday as they host the La Sierra Golden Eagles at Escondido High School. The match begins at 8:00 p.m. and admission is free for all in attendance. Later in the week, the Cougars will get a chance to avenge a prior loss against No. 1 ranked Concordia— the defending NAIA National Champion— in Irvine.

PROFESSOR APPRECIATION NIGHT
The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team will be recognizing their professors for their hard work and commitment to their students during the home match Tuesday against La Sierra. All fans--current students or not-- are invited to bring along a favorite professor of their own. The first 40 professors in attendance will be awarded a Cougar seat cushion out of appreciation.

WEEK PREVIEW
The Cougars will kick off their week with a showdown at home against former A.I.I. rival La Sierra, now a member of the Cal Pac Conference. The Cougars are 6-2 lifetime against the Golden Eagles, including a victory in the A.I.I. Championship match in 2011. CSUSM defeated La Sierra earlier this season in the Vanguard tournament behind Taylor DeGraaf's 16 kills and 13 digs, and has won their last 12 sets over the Golden Eagles.

On Thursday, the Cougars will square off against undefeated and No. 1 ranked Concordia, who has won 75 of its last 76 competitions dating back to the 2011 NAIA Championship. The Eagles knocked off CSUSM in San Marcos earlier this season in straight sets, but the Cougars nearly snagged each the second and third sets against the consensus No. 1 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.

Winners of five straight matches, the Cougars are looking to make their streak one of the longest in school history. CSUSM has had some impressive stretches of play, with their best being in 2012 when the Cougars rolled off eight straight victories in August and September.
