WEEK PREVIEW
CSUSM is facing two tough teams this week, but the Cougars know that they can be beaten. They have already done so, in fact. The biggest win of the season for CSUSM to this point was their four-set victory over then No. 9 Westmont, who was 12-0 at the time. The Cougars also knocked off La Sierra twice this season, though both matches were highly competitive.

Both CSUSM opponents are tough at home, with Westmont holding a 7-2 record at Murchison Gym while La Sierra boasts a 11-1 home record. The Cougars have an 0-1 record at Westmont lifetime, while they have had some success at La Sierra, going 2-1 in the their three previous matches in Riverside.

Westmont enters Tuesday's match in a little bit of a funk, having lost five of their last nine matches after their 12-0 start. La Sierra, on the other hand, comes in on a roll having taken six of their last seven contests. The Golden Eagles only loss during that stretch was to Westmont, falling in four sets.

CSUSM, who has battled through several significant injuries this season, enters play this week as winners of nine of their past 11 contests.

MILESTONES FOR FOSTER
Junior standout Alyssa Foster just surpassed one milestone last week, and is already on the verge of passing another. The setter from Portland, Oregon tallied her 1,000th assist of the season in the first set against Hope International, giving her three straight seasons with at least 1,000.

An NAIA All-American honorable mention in 2012 and the A.I.I. Setter of the Year, Foster currently stands at 3983 assists in her career— needing just 17 more to reach the 4,000 mark. She currently ranks 13th in the NAIA in assists this year, and has been in the top 20 in the NAIA in each of her three seasons on campus—including finishing seventh last season.
