CAN'T MAKE IT TO THE GAME? WE'VE GOT YOUR BACK
For fans that can't make it to San Marcos for Tuesday's match, the contest will be covered by Live Stats on CSUSMcougars.com. All home games throughout the year will have live play-by-play covered throughout the season.

MONKEY OFF THE BACK
CSUSM entered Sept. 11's match against The Master's College winless (0-3-2) against the Mustangs all-time. In fact, the Cougars hadn't scored a goal against TMC since Sept. 2, 2008. However, Jake Kaiser rewrote the record book with the game's only goal in the 28th minute as the Cougars earned their first win of the season, 1-0.

BYE HOLA
No. 17 Biola has outscored its opponents 23-1 in its two wins so far this season. The Eagles set a school record with a 15-0 win over Pacific Union (0-4) last Tuesday with six goals coming from sophomore midfielder Sava Pantic. CSUSM is 2-1-1 all-time against Biola and has gone 0-1-1 against the Eagles in the last two meetings. The Eagles prevailed 1-0 over the Cougars last season on Aug. 30, 2011.

NUMBERS CAN BE DECEIVING
The Cougars will travel to Vanguard on Saturday to face the Lions, who stand at 1-5-1 on the year. However, the Lions could be a much better squad than their record indicates. Three of VU's losses have been decided by a single goal, with two of its defeats coming against the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country. The Lions narrowly fell to No. 1 Lindsey Wilson and No. 2 Rio Grande on the road last week, 1-0 and 3-2, respectively. CSUSM is 1-1 all-time against Vanguard.

GROUP POLL
The Cougars jumped up one spot in the Conference/A.I.I./Unaffiliated Group Poll on Monday from fifth to fourth behind Ashford (Iowa), Jamestown and La Sierra, respectively. CSUSM started the year second in the group poll before falling to fifth behind Houston-Victoria last week.

NOTES
Kaiser currently leads the Cougars with two goals, four points and five shots on-frame this season … Landon Sherwood recorded a career-best seven saves against Concordia (Calif.) last week … The Cougars' 4-0 loss to the Eagles last week marked the first time CSUSM has given up at least four goals in three separate games in a season since 2007… CSUSM is 10-3-2 in home games dating back to 2010.

A.I.I. TOURNAMENT COMING TO CSUSM

Championship Tournament November 9-10 at Mangrum Field and the Multipurpose Field. The six-game tournament will crown a men's and women's champion and hand two automatic NAIA tournament berths to the winners.
