COUGARS-MUSTANGS PART OF FALL KICKOFF TRIPLEHEADER
Cal State San Marcos and The Master's College will be the first leg in a tripleheader of home games in CSUSM's Fall Kickoff on Tuesday. The women's soccer team follows with a match against Biola at 5:00 p.m. and the women's volleyball team will play No. 2 Concordia (Calif.) at 7:00 p.m. at Escondido High School.

TAILGATE TUESDAY
The University Student Union Advisory Board is hosting a free student tailgate to start the Fall Kickoff. The festivities will get underway at 2:00 p.m. on The Clarke Terrace. The tailgate will feature music, food, face painting and CSUSM spirit items. Then, at 2:40 p.m., fans will head down to the Multipurpose Field for the men's and women's soccer games. Free schedule posters will be distributed to all attendees.

RE-HASHING THE WEEK
CSUSM had a rough stretch on the road last week, falling to Pomona-Pitzer, 4-1, and Fresno Pacific, 4-0. Freshman Adrian Martinez provided the lone goal for the Cougars, scoring in the 51st minute against the Sagehens for his first career score. Despite being winless in their first three games, there's cause for optimism from the Cougars; CSUSM lost its first three contests in 2011, but rebounded for five consecutive victories thereafter.

EARNING YOUR MASTER'S
CSUSM comes into Tuesday's match 0-3-2 all-time against The Master's College. After falling in their first two games of the season, the Mustangs have come back with three straight wins, including a 5-0 shutout of William Jessup on Sept. 8. Austin Rochow and Zach Egeler lead TMC with three goals apiece.

AS THE EAGLE FLIES
No. 7 Concordia (Calif.) will host CSUSM on Thursday in Irvine. The Eagles are undefeated over their last five games, including wins over NCAA Division II's Cal Poly Pomona (3-2) and No. 15 Kansas Wesleyan (4-1). Concordia's lone loss was in its opening game against NCAA DII opponent Grand Canyon (1-0). The Cougars are 1-1 all-time against the Eagles. Concordia won the last battle between the teams on Sept. 21, 2011, 1-0.

The six-game tournament will crown a men's and women's champion and hand two automatic NAIA tournament berths to the winners.
