The Cal State San Marcos men's golf team closed out their second tournament of the spring on Tuesday, shooting a team round of 303 to place 4th at the CSU Bakersfield Invitational.

The three round, 11-team tournament concluded with College of the Canyons' total team score of 868 edging Point Loma Nazarene's 871 to take home the title. Sonoma State placed third at 872. The event was held at Seven Oaks Country Club in Bakersfield.

The Cougars' total of 884 put them in fourth place, five shots clear of the host school and ahead of NCAA Division II schools UC San Diego and CSU Dominguez-Hills, among others.

Finishing 1-2 on the squad for the second straight week were Adam Loran and Kevin Ruby. Loran shot a final round +4 (76), putting him at +3 (219) in the event, which tied him for 15th place. Ruby was just a shot back, shooting a final round 75 for a total of +4 (220) and a tie for 17th place.

Next on the team were Marco Gomez and Robert Nicanor, who finished the tournament tied for 36th at +10 (226). Rounding out the squad was Max Sujiwaridom, who shot a tidy final round 74 to move up the leaderboard into 50th place at +15 (231).

Next up for Coach Greg Hutton squad will be the SMEE Builders Invitational, starting March 7th in Jamul.
