Senior pitcher Cortney Allen was named CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 4-11, 2013. Allen threw a perfect game in the Cougars' home opener, an 8-0 five-inning, run-rule victory over La Sierra. She struck out five of the first six hitters she faced and allowed just three balls out of the infield. Allen finished with seven strikeouts, six pop outs and two groundouts in her five innings of work to improve to 4-1 on the year.

The top-ranked Cougars are 7-2 overall and travel for doubleheaders against Vanguard and Biola on February 15 and 16, respectively. CSUSM's next home games are during the Cougar Clash, March 1 and 3, at CSUSM Softball Field.
