Freshman goalkeeper Amanda Sears led the Cougars to a pair of overtime victories over Top 25 teams last week, including a 3-2 win over No. 7 Westmont and a 2-1 win at No. 12 Vanguard. She registered a pair of saves in each of the wins, but did something no other CSUSM goalkeeper has done before - score a goal. She redirected a bouncing ball off a corner kick in the 88th minute against Westmont to force the game to overtime.
