Strong was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Field Athlete of the Week on March 12 for the third time in his career. At the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, Strong posted a season-best mark of 49.22 meters in the discus throw – ranking 24th in the nation. At the Ross & Sharon Irwin Collegiate Scoring Meet, Strong broke his own school record in the shot put with an NCAA Division II Provisional mark of 16.85 meters – 25th in the nation. Currently, his shot put mark leads the CCAA while his discus throw mark ranks third. For the season, Strong has five event wins in the shot put and three event wins in the discus throw.
