Vavra was the Cougars' top runner at the Lewis Conference Crossover on Oct. 6. in Romeoville, Illinois. Out of 282 runners, the redshirt sophomore finished 19th with a time of 25:16.4 in the 8-kilometer race – just 12.2 seconds off his personal best. For his performance, the Escondido native was named the CCAA Runner of the Week for the first time.
