Dylan Healey has been named the CSUSM Male Student-Athlete of the Month for April 2015. Healey, a junior from Franklin, Tenn., ran away with the individual title at the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference Championship, finishing at 8-under 208 (66-69-73, -8) and winning by six shots. He is the first CSUSM player to earn conference medalist honors and the Cougars won their second conference championship.
In April, Healey averaged 71.33 (-0.67) and finished in the top-3 twice. His 72.03 scoring average this season is the lowest in program history, beating out CSUSM Hall of Famer Cory Scoggin’s 72.63 (2003-04). Healey is ranked eighth in the NAIA in scoring average.
The men’s team’s NAIA National Championship takes place May 19-22 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
