Cal State San Marcos Athletics

Brandon Bentson has been named the Cal State San Marcos Male Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of February 2015. Bentson, a junior first baseman from San Diego, led the Cougars to an 11-4 record last month while hitting .379. He collected 22 hits, 13 runs, 12 RBI, five doubles, a triple and a homerun. He had multiple hits in seven games, including a 3-for-5, three RBI performance in a 14-3 victory over Grace (Neb.) on Feb. 22.

Since a 2-5 start to the season, CSUSM baseball has gone 10-3 to improve to 12-8 overall.
