Wade Collie of the men's basketball team has been named the CSUSM Male Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of December. In eight games, Collie averaged 12.5 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 54-percent (35-of-64) from the field and 45-percent from 3-point range (15-of-33). In addition, he made 15-of-16 from the charity stripe.

Collie played a main role in CSUSM's 2-0 trip at the Simpson Christmas Classic, Dec. 29-30. He scored nine points and added nine rebounds in an 86-61 victory over Cal Maritime before registering season-highs of 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 96-66 victory over host Simpson. It was the first double-double of his CSUSM career.
