Kate Bouvatte of the women's cross country team has been named CSUSM Female Athlete of the Month for the month of September 2014. She recorded two standout performances in her team's two races this month. She was the top collegiate finisher while leading No. 10 CSUSM to its fourth consecutive title at the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 13. A week later, Bouvatte collected runner-up honors at Sept. 20’s Mustang Challenge, as the Cougars placed second behind only NCAA Division I opponent Sacramento State.
