Heather Thompson of the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team has been named the CSUSM Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of December 9-15, 2013. Thompson recorded her fifth double-double of the season on Saturday night to lead the Cougars to a 68-57 victory over Simpson. In addition, she pulled down a school-record 20 rebounds, two better than the previous record of 18 held by Danielle Cooper (2011-13). The Cougars play No. 1 Vanguard on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at MiraCosta College.
