Erin Talafus has been named the CSUSM Female Student-Athlete of the Week of Oct. 7-15, 2013. Talafus led the 25th-ranked Cougars to their first five-set win of the season with 16 kills and eight blocks against San Diego Christian last Wednesday. Talafus was the main cog for the Cougars, hitting .467 on the match while the remainder of the team hit just .156 overall. The win was the 20th of the season for the Cougars. Including Friday’s sweep of West Coast Baptist, the Cougars are 21-8 on the season.
