Returning A.I.I. Player of the Year Taylor DeGraaf wasted no time improving her resume in 2013, leading No. 20 CSUSM to a 4-2 record to open the season, including a huge three-set sweep of Southern Oregon. DeGraaf leads the Cougars in kills, service aces, and digs, and is ranked is ranked 2nd, 8th, and 33rd nationally in each of those categories.
