Cal State San Marcos baseball pitcher
Adam Bileckyj has signed a contract to join the St. Louis Cardinals organization.
The 6'3” 205-pound lefty recently finished his junior season at CSUSM with a 5-4 record and 2.73 ERA in a team-leading 79 innings pitched, striking out 70 batters and walking 32. It was Bileckyj's first season in Cougar blue after spending two decorated years at San Diego City College. The Poway High School grad will begin his professional career this coming season.
Bileckyj is the second member of the 2011 CSUSM baseball team to join an MLB organization. Shortstop/pitcher Johnny Omahen was a 35th round selection by the Florida Marlins in last week's MLB Draft.
