SAN RAMON, Calif. - Senior Justin Washington, junior Natalie Rodriguez and freshman Devony Dettman were named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the week of April 24-30 for their performances at UC Irvine's adidas/Steve Scott Invitational. Washington was honored as the Men's Track Athlete of the Week, while Rodriguez earned the same accolade on the women's side. Dettman was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Washington posted a time of 1:53.21 in the 800m for fourth place. He was also a member of the 4x400 relay team that ran 1:53.21. Washington is qualified in the 800m for the CCAA Championships.
 
Rodriguez ran 4:32.48 in the 1500m, less than a second shy of tying her own school record. She has qualified for the CCAA Championships in three events.
 
Dettman jumped 1.50m in the high jump to qualify for her fifth event at the CCAA Championships. She has previously hit the standards in the 100m, 200m, 100H and long jump.
 
The Cougars will will wrap up the season next week at the CCAA Track and Field Championships, which will be held at Chico State's University Stadium beginning Thursday, May 4 and running through Saturday, May 6. Since CSUSM will not have anybody competing in the heptathlon or decathlon, action for the Cougars will start on Friday, May 6.
