PRIMM, Nev. – The No. 12 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team moved up a spot to place fourth at the Primm Battle hosted by Grand View University (Iowa) at Primm Valley Golf Club.
The Cougars improved 10 strokes from a its opening round score, posting 12-over 300 in the final round to finish at 34-over 610.
No. 4 British Columbia took home the team title at 11-over 587. No. 10 Wayland Baptist (597, +21) and No. 1 Northwood (597, +21) rounded out the top three.
CSUSM, which started the day in fifth place, had the third-lowest final-round total in the field.
Victoria Smith had a 73,
Vanessa Chap carded 74, and
Christina Trujillo recorded 75.
Taylor Coover wrapped up the scoring with a 78.
Smith and Chap both placed in the top-10. Smith tied for seventh at 3-over 147 and Chap took ninth at 5-over 149.
Trujillo tied for 13
th with a two-round total of 8-over 152.
Danielle Biss went 84-81 to tie for 42
nd at 21-over 165, while Coover took 46
th at 22-over 166.
The Cougars will finish the regular season, Apr. 6-7 in the Battle at the Rock in Riverside.
