SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos women's cross country runner
Kate Bouvatte was recognized by the
San Diego Hall of Champions as one of the September Stars of the Month after a stellar start to the 2014 season that put the Cougars at No. 10 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
Bouvatte led the Cougars in two strong performances this month. She was the top collegiate finisher while leading CSUSM to its fourth consecutive title at the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 13.
A week later, Bouvatte collected runner-up honors at Sept. 20's Mustang Challenge, as the Cougars placed second behind NCAA Division I opponent Sacramento State.
Bouvatte and the Cougars are back in action Saturday, competing in the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
