KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team's season might be over, but the squad is still receiving accolades. The Cougars were awarded the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for boasting a team grade point average of higher than 3.0 for the 2011-12 school year
CSUSM held a 3.06 team GPA this academic year and earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the first time in program history.
“This team is so responsible, disciplined and committed to the student-athlete model. They take so much pride in their academic work and it shows in their team GPA. I am so proud of these women and look forward to seeing their future academic achievements,” said CSUSM head coach

The Cougars finished the 2012 season 11-6-3 overall and were granted an at-large berth to the NAIA National Tournament.
