NAIA Game of the Week Ends in Scoreless Tie

Box Score
SALT LAKE CITY – No. 10 Cal State San Marcos dominated in every offensive category, but the Cougars could not break the seal in the NAIA women's soccer Game of the Week on Saturday at Dumke Field against No. 2o Carroll (Mont.).

The Cougars (6-2-2) remain unbeaten over their last four games. CSUSM's last five games had been against ranked opponents, a span which the Cougars finished 3-1-1.

CSUSM outshot Carroll 19-5 and earned a season-high 17 corner kicks to just one for the Fighting Saints. Goalkeeper Amanda Sears was not forced to make a save. Briana Carlin made eight for Carroll (9-0-2).

“We absolutely dominated every phase of the game, but we didn't get the one stat that matters- a goal. Full credit to Carroll though, they made some big plays and clears off their line,” said CSUSM head coach Ron Pulvers. “We're looking forward to Wednesday and we are going to try and get our group healthy.”

Dani Porter and Erin Mulrooney each had a pair of shots on-frame.

The Cougars begin a seven-game home stand to end the regular season on Wednesday against
Marymount Palos Verdes at 2:00 p.m. on Mangrum Soccer Field.
